Choosing Your Hair

What is Remy human hair?

Remy describes human hair collected and processed so that the cuticles remain aligned in the same direction, from root to end. This alignment is what supports a smoother appearance, more natural movement and less tangling over the life of the hair, provided it is cared for correctly.

All Pro Luxe Hair extensions are 100% Remy human hair.

How do I choose the right extension method?

The right method depends on your natural hair, your lifestyle, the result you want, how much maintenance you’re willing to commit to, and whether you want something temporary or professionally applied.

Clip-ins are removable and applied by the wearer. Best for occasional or flexible wear.

Tape-ins and invisible tape are lightweight, low-profile professional methods with scheduled maintenance.

Tape wefts and Pro-Luxe wefts offer customisable professional volume and coverage.

For any professional method, book a consultation with a qualified stylist. If you are unsure which method suits you, contact us and we will talk it through.

How do I choose a shade?

Match the mid-lengths and ends of your hair, not the roots, in indirect natural daylight.

If your colour has dimension, or you are between two shades, consider a rooted, highlighted or blended shade rather than trying to match a single flat tone. When in doubt, send us photographs and our team will help.

How much hair do I need?

It varies with your natural density, your starting length, your haircut, the method you choose and the finish you want. For professional methods, a stylist consultation is the most reliable way to determine quantity.

Can the extensions be coloured?

We recommend selecting the closest available shade rather than colouring.

Colouring alters the hair and may affect its condition and lifespan. Do not bleach or lighten Pro Luxe Hair extensions. Any toning or colour service should be carried out by an experienced professional following a strand test, and is undertaken at your own risk.

Can I use heated tools?

Yes. Human hair extensions can generally be styled with heated tools.

Always apply heat protection, use the lowest effective temperature, and keep direct heat away from tapes, bonds, seams, clips and any attachment point. Repeated high-heat styling shortens the life of any extension.

How long will my extensions last?

Lifespan depends on the method, how often you wear them, how you maintain them, the products you use, heat exposure, your environment and, for professional methods, the quality and timing of your maintenance appointments.

Because these factors vary so widely between wearers, we do not publish a fixed lifespan. Your stylist can give you a realistic expectation based on your specific case.

Do professional extensions require maintenance?

Yes. Professional methods require scheduled maintenance appointments and correct professional removal.

Follow the timeframe your stylist advises. Never attempt to remove bonds, tapes or wefts yourself. Improper removal is the single most common cause of damage to natural hair.

Care & Wear

How should I wash my extensions?

Detangle before washing. Keep the hair flowing downward and avoid circular rubbing. Use gentle, extension-appropriate products, and apply conditioner and masks mainly through the mid-lengths and ends, away from tapes, bonds and attachment points. Rinse thoroughly. Product build-up affects both appearance and attachment performance.

Can I sleep in my extensions?

Never sleep with wet or damp extensions.

For professional methods, loosely braid or secure the hair before bed and consider a smooth pillowcase. Clip-ins should always be removed before sleeping, showering, swimming or exercising.

Can I swim with extensions?

Ask your stylist for method-specific advice before swimming with professional extensions. Chlorine, salt water and sunscreen can affect colour, cause dryness and weaken attachments.

When should I contact my stylist?

Book support if you notice discomfort, matting, unusual shedding, slipping, visible attachment points or scalp irritation. Do not attempt to reapply or remove professional methods yourself.
